Work in earnest on the annual Fall mix, one that I think is always my best, started out a month ago. It began with the beginning and the ending: to start and end with the same song, a cover and its original counterpart. I then had a few other songs in mind on the running list to include and thought it was going well. At the same time, I was making a separate mix for a special someone and didn’t think I could make a Fall mix: I was failing for some reason, partly because I’m not the same person I once was, I’m in a much better, much happier (dare I say happiest) place. So I ended up merging the two, and she got one and now you guys get the other.
Is one an alternate version? Is one far superior? No, they just share a few songs is all. The one, labeled “Happiest Fall-Public Consumption” in my iTunes, also features songs that I pulled from previous fall mixes (rather, song, for only one is pulled from 2008’s Fall mix I made). Is this my best Fall mix, yes - best one so far.
