LCD SOUNDSYSTEM: “OH YOU (CHRISTMAS BLUES)”

Now that Shutter Island has come and gone (and for me - I’ve gone and seen it twice - bless you Scorsese y DiCaprio!) the next film on the Most Anticipated of 2010 list would have to be that of Greenberg.  Why you ask? For many reasons.  One: Ben Stiller taking another dramedy-tastic turn; Two: Noah Baumbach hopefully recovering from the shitfest (or so I heard it’s a shitfest) Margot At The Wedding; and Three: New. LCD. Soundsystem.

Ok, so there’s only 1 new *LCD* song on it, but the film’s score, and majority of it’s soundtrack, is composed by LCD’s own James Murphy.  The P4K jam of 2007 “All My Friends” is in its trailer (above) and Murphy even makes a cameo.  The rest of the soundtrack is filled out with songs by some of my other favorites of all-time (Galaxie 500 - hello!)

Anyway, this new LCD song.  So damn good.  It is not a Christmas song.  Apparently Murphy’s solo cuts on this are akin to The Beatles post-output, but this song is such a White Album outtake.  That, or Television taking a stab at “Yer Blues”.  Either way, its an homage to the brooding late night drugs binges of 1978 and you should hear it. Right now. So do that!
